Magazine Guidelines

Submissions open April 13th- June 1st (11.59pm GMT) , on the theme of FOOD.

Isabelle says...

"I'm looking for personal connections with food. Cooking can be a delicate art. Sitting down at a family meal can be painful, explosive, a treasured moment; a special kind of chaotic seasonal holiday! What foods do we worship with in places of worship? What foods do we love with; give as gifts, bake with care?  Taste memory can be extremely evocative.  What kind of foods define us? What if a lack of food defines us? Gorgeous food portraits through poetry can be found here  and here."

The magazine will be available to download as an ebook or  a print edition. Contributors will receive a free PDF download, will be paid any royalties generated from the first month's sales and will be able to purchase any print copies desired at a discount.

Submissions will be forever free - but please consider buying a book or ebook from the Fly on the Wall shop as without this the press cannot survive! If you are based outside of the UK, please note that we can only pay royalties via PayPal.

FAQ

How do your royalties work?

Writers are paid 50% net profit of any sales within the first 30 days of the magazine's release. This is because the magazine will have a Print On Demand set up and paying royalties indefinitely creates a lot of work! Royalties will be paid via bank transfer (UK) or Paypal. If you are not based in the UK, please note that royalties can only be paid via Paypal.

If you feel so inclined...

To help assist with running costs of the magazine, we have set up an optional donation below. You can set your own amount and any amount really does help.
